The following terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) apply when you place an order through www.nordicknots.com and associated pages for the purchase of goods made available through the Website (each a “Product” and jointly the “Products”).

These Terms and Conditions constitute an agreement between you and Nordic Knots (as defined below) and by placing an order for the purchase of Products through the Website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Depending on the address you indicate for shipping, the following Nordic Knots company will be the party you are contracting with.

If you are placing an order for shipment to the United States or Canada, the term “Nordic Knots”, “we” or “us” will refer to Nordic Knots Inc. for purposes of this Agreement.

If you are placing an order for shipment to any other country, apart from the United States and Canada, “Nordic Knots”, “we”, “us”, will refer to Nordic Knots AB for purposes of this Agreement.


When shopping on the Website, we will process some of your personal data in order to carry out your purchase. We may also use cookies and similar techniques to enhance your experience on the Website.

You can read more about how we process personal data in our Privacy Policy and our use of cookies in our Cookie Policy.


By placing an order on the Website, you confirm that you have read, understand, and accept the Terms and Conditions and have read and understood the Privacy Policy. You also represent that you are at least 18, or the age of majority, if older in your state of residence.

Before placing your order, you will be given the opportunity to review your selected Products, the information you have provided, the total price of your order, and correct any input errors. Please note that Products in your shopping cart are not reserved and may be purchased by other customers until your order has been accepted by us in accordance with Section 3 below.

For customized Products (such as custom size or any other customization), orders are placed via our support team. Please contact our support for a quote.

We reserve the right to, in individual cases, deny or change your order, e.g., if we believe you have provided false or otherwise incorrect personal information and/or you have any record for non-payment of debt.

Our Products are handmade in small batches and only a few in each size are available. When we do not have a Product in stock but have a new confirmed delivery arriving, the Product will be available for pre-order. Products available for pre-order will show the estimated shipping time next to the rug size on the product page.  Products available for pre-order only – i.e., which we do not yet have in stock – are not guaranteed to become available within the estimated time. In the case of short deliveries or quality deficiencies, resulting in a prolonged delivery time, you will be contacted by our support team.

Please note that all orders placed by you are subject to acceptance by us. After placing your order, we will send you an order confirmation via e-mail, including your order number, details of the Product you have ordered from us, your payment details and shipment details (as applicable). Please note that this confirmation e-mail is our acceptance of your order, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us.

We may, in our own discretion, choose not to accept your order for any reason whatsoever, without any liability to you. If we are unable to confirm your order, we will inform you of this in writing. Non-acceptance of an order may, for example, occur as a result from one of the following situations:

  • inability to obtain authorization of payment;
  • an error within the product information, including price, promotion, or availability; or
  • suspicion of any fraudulent activity.

In the event of a non-acceptance and we already have received payment for the order, our sole liability with respect to a canceled order is to refund the amount to you by using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction within a reasonable time, not to exceed 14 days.

Provided that your ordered Product is not customized or custom made (i.e. that the Product has been produced according to your specific requirements or which have been tailored to your personal wishes, e.g. products with a customized variation, size, or print), you may cancel your order regarding a Product if you do so before it has been dispatched for shipment to you. If you want to cancel the order prior to shipment, you must inform us of your decision by providing us with a clear written statement thereof to hello@nordicknots.com (for US/Canada) / hej@nordicknots.com (for other). For customized or custom-made Products, your right to cancel the order depends on whether the production of the Product has been initiated.  Once the production or customization has been initiated, it may not be cancelled.

In the event that any Product ordered by you has been processed and dispatched, you are obliged to receive the order.



Once the order has been accepted by us and processed, a shipping confirmation e-mail will upon your order’s dispatch be sent with all relevant information about the shipping of your order.

For more information regarding our standard shipping methods, shipping charges and estimated shipping time, please refer to Sections 4.3 and 5 below.


We aim to display the Products, including their colors and other qualities, on the Website as lifelike as possible. However, please note that due to the colors settings of your device used to visit the Website, the colors of the Products displayed in the images on the Website may differ from their true colors. We take no responsibility for any such discrepancy.

Each rug is woven by hand which means there might be small variations in size and color. This gives every rug the unique look and character we love, but again, we take no responsibility for any discrepancy in this regard.


Currently, we provide shipping of our Products to the following countries and territories and on the following terms. Please note that for remote locations that are not within our freight partners’ route(s) in the countries/territories listed below, we reserve the right to contact you before the order is dispatched and quote the shipping costs. Shipments to such locations do not qualify for free shipping and can have an increase in shipping time.


Free shipments to Europe (see exceptions below). Standard shipping time is 3-6 business days.

All orders are shipped to you with FedEx, UPS, or DHL.


Free shipment. Standard shipping time is 3-6 business days. Orders shipped to Switzerland may be subject to Swiss customs duties, fees, and/or import taxes. Shipping charges and applicable customs duties and taxes are your responsibility.


Free shipment. Standard shipping time is 3-6 business days. Rugs larger than 300x400 cm do not qualify for free shipping. Please contact us to receive a quote and shipping time.

Iceland, Svalbard, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Maderia, and certain remote islands and locations

For orders to Iceland, Svalbard, Greenland, Faroe Islands and Madeira, please contact our support for a quote.

For shipping to certain remote locations, such as but not limited to islands in the Greek archipelago and the Canary Islands in Spain, could be excluded from our freight partner(s) routes and therefore be excluded from free shipping. In such event, please contact us to receive a quote and shipping time.

United States

Free shipment in the continental USA. Standard shipping time is 3-6 business days.

All orders are shipped from our warehouse in Atlanta and delivered to your front door by FedEx, UPS, or Freight Delivery. Freight Delivery will be used for larger sizes (sizes above 9x12) and might take a few days more as an appointment needs to be scheduled to be delivered when you are home.

Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and US Territories do not qualify for free shipping. Please contact us to receive a quote and delivery time for shipments to these locations.

South Korea

Free shipment. Orders shipped to South Korea may be subject to South Korean customs duties, fees, and/or import taxes. Shipping charges and applicable customs duties and taxes are your responsibility.


For any country or territory not mentioned above, shipping quotes and details will be provided on request and the specifics confirmed separately. Please contact our support for a quote.

When your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with the tracking details so you can follow the status of your shipment.

All of our shipping partners, whether free shipping or otherwise, will deliver to the front door of the building, or as the case may be for smaller packages, to the closest pick-up station. The shipping does not include delivery or drop off inside your home, unpacking or installation. In the event that an order is shipped to a pick-up point, and you fail to retrieve the package timely, we reserve the right to assess a fee to cover any additional costs that we may incur. If your Product has been damaged during transport, you must report it to us as promptly as possible, and within five (5) days at the latest.

Please note that we always strive to deliver in accordance with the estimated shipping times. However, please note that the estimated shipping times are provided as guidelines only and shipment lead times commence from the date of your order’s dispatch. Please also note that the estimated shipment lead times do not take into account any possible delays caused by payment authorization, stock availability, and/or possible delays caused by the carrier. Oversized rugs (300x400 cm and 350x450 cm, or larger) can sometimes have a few days extra shipping time because of their large dimensions. You acknowledge that Nordic Knots is not liable for, and does not offer any compensation, in the event of delays in order acceptance, manufacture or shipment.

Custom sized rugs have a standard shipping time of 10-12 weeks or 18-20 weeks, as set forth on the Website or agreed to. Please note, while we aim for a 10–12 or 18-20-weeks lead time, this timing is subject to availability. We are committed to crafting your customized rug with precision and care.


Delivery of Products purchased from this Website shall occur at our warehouse in Atlanta, at the time your order ships.

Orders shipped to Canada may be subject to Canadian customs duties and/or import taxes. Shipping charges and applicable customs duties and taxes are your responsibility. By ordering products from this Website, you authorize the customs broker selected by Nordic Knots or its shipping agent to act as your agent to transact business with the Canada Border Services Agency (“CBSA”) to clear merchandise, pay duties and taxes, and to handle any merchandise returns and refund claims on your behalf. On checkout of such orders, we calculate and collect the applicable amounts that the customs broker will pay on your behalf to the CBSA.


In addition to any statutory consumer legislation on the right to withdrawal that may be applicable to any orders (for example, as available in the EU to EU consumers), Nordic Knots offers a 30-day return policy for all of our Products (except for samples). For the refund to be applicable you must return your Product within 30 days after receipt. Please note that samples are not covered by the 30-days return policy and that any return thereof may only be made in accordance with any statutory consumer rights you may have, where you shall be responsible for any shipping costs.

Under the 30-days return policy, Nordic Knots offers the return of the goods, subject to the following fees that will be deducted from your refund:

  • Rugs up to the size 200x300 cm - $39, €25, £25, 250 SEK, 190 DKK, 29 CHF, 290 NOK per rug returned
  • Rugs larger than 200x300 cm - $69, €39, £39, 390 SEK, 290 DKK, 49 CHF, 490 NOK per rug returned
  • Curtains - $39, €39, £39, 390 SEK, 290 DKK, 49 CHF, 490 NOK per order returned
  • Orders containing more than 10 curtains - $69, €69, £69, 690 SEK, 490 DKK, 69 CHF, 690 NOK per order returned
  • Rug pads - $9, €9, £9, 90 SEK, 70 DKK, 9 CHF, 90 NOK per rug pad returned*

*If the rug pad delivered to you is returned together with a rug, only the return fee for the rug will be charged.

All Products must be returned in their original condition, meaning that the Products and packaging must be in the same condition as when you received them and in their original containers with labels and protective stickers intact. We recommend that you always pack a Product in the same way and in the same packaging as when the Product was sent to you. This does not limit your right to carefully open and examine the Product. However, if the Product or its packaging is not in the above condition upon return, you agree and acknowledge that we have the right to deduct an amount from the refund corresponding to the Product’s decline in value.

To exercise the 30-days return policy, just contact us and we will book the return for you.

If you are a qualifying EU consumer and want to exercise your right to withdrawal provided by EU law, such request shall be made within 14 days from receiving your Product and you may also use the standard form that can be found at Konsumentverket’s website, available here.

In case of an approved return, whether under our 30-days return policy or under a statutory right to withdrawal, we will reimburse all payments received from you for the Products, less the deductions set forth above, promptly, but not later than 14 days from the date we’ve received the Product and registered the return. Please note that we will not refund customs, duties, fees, taxes, or any excess shipping charges that may apply to your order. Refunds will be processed using the same means of payment that you used for the initial transaction, unless otherwise agreed or deemed necessary.

Your return right or, if applicable, right of withdrawal does not apply in relation to any customized or custom-made Products, i.e. that have been produced according to your specific requirements or which have been tailored to your personal wishes (e.g. products with a customized variation, size, or print), nor to products that cannot be returned due to health or hygiene reasons.


If you receive a defective Product, please notify us immediately. Failure to notify Nordic Knots within a reasonable time after you have detected (but not more than sixty days thereafter, to the full extent permitted by law) that the Products are defective may result in us not accepting a return or refund.

Once we have received your claim, we will process it and revert with further instructions. Your claim, to the extent approved, may be remedied by (i) repair of the defective Product, (ii) replacement of the defective Product with a new Product, or (iii) a price reduction or refund. If a particular Product is no longer in stock, you have the right to elect to replace the Product with a product of a similar model or design at the same price point, or the right to be refunded.

In the event that no defect or damage as set out herein is discovered upon our examination, we reserve our right to deny your claim, and we will charge a fee for the cost of returning the Product. Attempts at fraud may be reported to the authorities. We reserve the right to not process your claim or future orders if an attempt at fraud is suspected.

Very rarely our Products will get damaged during transport. When you receive your order, if there is visible damage to the packaging or boxes, please refuse the delivery and note the damage on the form from the delivery company and notify us immediately. We will send you a new Product.

4.7 CARE

Since third party rug treatments are not in our control, you agree and acknowledge Nordic Knots will not be responsible in any way for rugs treated by a third party. Please see our Care Advice for how to care for your rug in the recommended way.

It is possible to purchase a sample if you would like to test a specific treatment method from a third party on the material.


Customers within the EU: the prices on the Website are shown in inclusive of VAT.

Customers within UK & Norway: the prices on the Website are shown in inclusive of VAT. If any import fees or VAT charges are added to your order by customs, we will refund this to you as soon as possible. You will never have to pay more in total, than what you pay when you purchase from our website.

Customers within US: the prices on the Website are shown excluding sales tax. If the shipping address is within the states of New York, California, Illinois, Connecticut, Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Washington, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Arizona, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, and North Carolina or is otherwise within a location that requires us to charge a sales tax, we will add such sales tax at the checkout, prior to your completion of your order.

Customers within Canada: the prices on the Website are shown excluding import duties, custom duties, and shipping costs. Such duties and fees are paid by the customer in accordance with Section 4.4.

Customers within South Korea: the prices are excluding any sales tax, VAT & customs duties. Local taxes, fees, and customs duties are paid by the customer when your order arrives in your country instead. Custom fees may apply and shall paid by the customer.

Customers in any other country than listed above: if an order is placed from another country than listed above, the prices are exclusive of VAT or any sales tax. Orders shipped to such countries may be subject to local VAT, import duties and/or taxes, which are levied once your package reaches your indicated address. You will be responsible for the payment of such import duties and taxes. The VAT will be based on your total order value, regardless of your order is subject to a campaign. It should be noted that we have no control over these charges and, since these charges are different in different countries, we cannot predict the final amount. Please contact your local customs and/or tax office for more information.

The prices, taxes and any shipping charges shown on the Website may vary from time to time. Nordic Knots provides prices on its Website subject to inter alia, printing errors, stock keeping, technical errors, and price increases carried by our suppliers. To the full extent permitted by law, we reserve the right to correct any errors in pricing, and update or change pricing information on the Website at any time.  We are not bound by the prices and shipping charges until your order has been accepted by us in accordance with Section 3 above.

Please note that to the full extent provided by law, we may cancel an order, even after it has been accepted by us, due to a pricing error that you realized or should have realized; in such an event, we will refund any payment you have made.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, after a purchase on the Website has been made, we will not make any adjustments to the amount paid by you, unless you were provided incorrect pricing due to technical issues/errors on the Website.


Payment for the Products can be made in accordance with what is set out below.

We offer payments in cooperation with our third-party payment solution partner by way of card payment to all our customers placing orders on the Website. The Products may be paid for by credit or debit card, such as VISA, Mastercard and American Express. The available payment methods are always those displayed at checkout stage at the time of your order placement. For more information on our payment and financing options, click here.

In order to offer you such payment methods and process your payment, we will during the checkout stage transfer your personal data, such as contact details and order details, to the payment solution partner. This is necessary in order for the payment solution partner to process your payment, to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods, and/or to tailor the payment methods for you. The payment solution partner’s processing of your personal data is conducted in line with the payment solution partner’s privacy policy.

You agree to pay within the set due date for the payment method you choose. We reserve the right to suspend your Account or any order(s) until we have received full payment for any overdue amounts.

If you fail to make any payment (in full or in part) on the due date, then, without prejudice to any other right or remedy available to us, we shall be entitled to charge you late interest on overdue payments in accordance with the maximum rate permitted pursuant to the (1) Swedish Interest Act (Sw. Räntelag (1975:635)), or (2) 1,5% per month or the maximum lesser rate permissible by relevant mandatory law, until payment is made in full.


We may offer you to take part in campaigns where other terms and conditions may apply. Such terms and conditions apply for as long as the campaign is active and for the specific products specified by us in connection with the campaign. We reserve the right to at any time cancel a campaign, upon cancelation or expiration of a campaign, these Terms and Conditions will apply. A campaign may include only specific items on the Website and for a limited time and while supplies last.


We have no responsibility in relation to any interruption in the availability of the Website, and to the full extent permitted under applicable law, we disclaim and have no liability for any errors in images, product description or technical specifications, incorrect prices, or price adjustments (such as changes in prices from suppliers or currency fluctuations), or inaccurate information regarding whether an item is in stock set out on the Website. We have the right to correct any such errors and to change or update information at any time. If an incorrect price has been entered for an item that you have ordered, we will notify you and await your approval of the corrected price before continuing with the order.

All pictures on the Website must be exclusively seen as and understood to be merely illustrations or approximate depictions of Products and related items, such as backgrounds and layouts. Such illustrations cannot be guaranteed to exactly reflect or display the goods you receive, or the Product’s exact or relative appearance, features, or origin.

Again, the full extent provided by law, we are not liable for any damage on other items caused by your use of the purchased Products, or any loss suffered by you caused by the same provided your use has been made in accordance with any applicable user guidelines and with proper care. You are exclusively responsible for determining whether a Product is non-defective before using it.

Our liabilities to you relating to your use of the Website and purchase of any Products are limited in each separate case to these Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise set out in mandatory applicable law. To the full extent provided by law, furthermore, our total liability to you for any loss or damage arising in connection with your order on the Website is limited to the total amount of your order. We have no liability for indirect or consequential losses or damages, including with respect to delays.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall attempt to exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.


All Products, content, and other information, including all associated intellectual property rights, provided and made available by us on the Website, remain the exclusive property of Nordic Knots and its licensors. Any Product sold through the Website remain our property until full payment has been received. All attempts at fraud will be reported to the authorities. We reserve the right to cancel a purchase if fraud is suspected.

The information and all content are protected by intellectual property and marketing laws. This means that to the full extent provided by law, rights in the trademarks, trade names, product names, images, graphics, design, layout, and information about products, services, and all other content are reserved, and may not be copied or used for any purposes without written approval from us. However, please note that the Website may contain links to other websites beyond our control. We cannot be held liable for the operation, any content on, terms of use, or any processing of personal data conducted by, such third-party websites.


We shall not be liable for any delays, nonperformance, defects or for any damages, loss, or penalties caused by third party acts or circumstances outside of our reasonable control including but not limited to in case of war, warlike events, civil war, revolution, rebellion, government action, strike, lockout, blockade, natural catastrophes or similar event, technical problems, failure of electrical / telecommunications / data communications or other communications, as well as defects or delays in services from subcontractors due to circumstances stated herein. If such circumstances occur, we will use reasonable efforts to inform you.


With respect to any order for shipment to the United States and Canada, i.e., you are contracting with Nordic Knots Inc., this Agreement will be governed by New York law.  Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions and your use of the Website shall be heard exclusively in the state courts located in the Nassau County or the federal courts located in the Eastern District of New York, as applicable. Notwithstanding the above, Nordic Knots may, in its sole discretion, elect to take legal action against a consumer where the consumer has their permanent residence.


With respect to any order for shipment outside the United States and Canada, these Terms and Conditions and your use of the Website are construed under and governed by the substantial laws of Sweden.

Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions and your use of the Website shall be finally settled by the public courts of Sweden, with the District Court of Stockholm as first instance. Notwithstanding the above, we have the right to, at our sole discretion, choose to take legal action against a consumer where the consumer has its permanent residence.

If a dispute arises between you as a customer and us, and we are unable to resolve the dispute, you can submit a complaint to the EU’s functioning dispute settlement online, ODR. More information can be found via the following link http://ec.europa.eu/odr. You may also contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Sw. Allmänna reklamationsnämnden).

Regardless of where you may place an order for delivery, if you have any complaints, please contact our support department by sending an email. We will always first try to solve your complaints through discussions between you and our support department.


If any part of these Terms and Conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable, such determination shall not invalidate any other provision of these Terms and Conditions; instead, the invalid terms and conditions shall be replaced with other terms in order to give effect to the commercial intentions of these Terms and Conditions. The remaining terms, provisions, covenants, and restrictions set forth herein shall remain in full force and effect and shall not in any way be affected.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. New versions of these Terms and Conditions will be posted on the Website. Changes apply from the time they are published on the Website and are available for you to review.
