A collection of rugs designed by Giancarlo Valle. Crafted from impeccably soft New Zealand wool, decorated with playful motifs and signed off with a unique cut-out corner design. The motifs, at once ornate and organic, are inspired by the hand painted furniture of Valle’s family home in Latin America, with influences from Nordic folklore art. Exploring a shared emotional connection to color in a dialogue between cultures and memories.

The Giancarlo Valle collection is handmade in small batches. Only a few in each size are available.

See it, and feel it, in your own home. The sample offers a glimpse of the full size rug, allowing you to feel the texture, admire the color, and envision the design in your space. Every sample is a unique piece cut in 8"x8" from the rug and the pattern included will vary. Samples are not possible to return.

– Shedding will reduce over time.
– Trim, don’t pull, loose threads.
– Blot stains immediately; don’t rub.
– Avoid harsh chemicals.

I think you have to consider a home as a lens through which you live. It has to speak to you. It has to be authentic. This collection was a chance for me to explore something very personal, which was to reconnect with the idea of painting and sketching in my childhood. It's probably no surprise that I grew up in a house full of color, but in a totally different part of the world. The idea to work on a rug project—super unique—to start from that texture, that material, and sort of work your way up is great. It's sort of the opposite of architecture and sort of my training, so I liked the challenge. The sketches are really just a way of working and creating a language that we might not know, or trying to discover a way of talking through visuals. These rugs speak to that improvised quality of sketching. Everybody has an association with color, but in their own personal way, and that's fascinating to me.”
