Welcome to the Nordic Knots New York flagship store. Located at 6 Greene Street, designed by long term collaborators and friends, Studio Giancarlo Valle. Fusing contemporary design with exceptional craftsmanship, the New York store represents the world of Nordic Knots colors and textures. A space that speaks to our Scandinavian sensibility reinterpreted for downtown New York.

For founders Liza Berglund Laserow and Fabian Berglund, opening a flagship in New York is the natural next step in the Nordic Knots story. Both share a deep personal connection with the city - as former residents - and where the idea for Nordic Knots was first born. It is a city which has always felt like a home away from home.

To be opening a flagship in New York marks a physical representation of our world in a city which is so important to the Nordic Knots story. A place where visitors can experience Nordic Knots’ textiles in person and hopefully come to feel inspired,” comment Liza and Fabian.

Studio Giancarlo Valle, the interior studio behind Nordic Knots' Stockholm flagship, designed a store which is perfectly emblematic of the Nordic Knots aesthetic and design philosophy reinterpreted for downtown NYC. “From the beginning, we wanted to craft a contemporary, sleek interior style that reflects the big city vibe - whilst exhibiting our textiles in the most imaginative way. We couldn’t have trusted anyone else other than Giancarlo and his team to bring our vision to life. ” explained Liza.

Nestled within a historic building dating back to 1884, the flagship store features eight expansive windows – flooding the store with natural light and evoking a genuine sense of home. "For us, it's important to have a space that is more than just a white box," shared Fabian. “The unique architectural features and natural light make it feel as if you’re entering a home.”

Drawing inspiration from an archive room, the space features custom oversized stainless-steel cabinets that display large rug samples, as if you were discovering books in a library. Stainless steel is a material that runs throughout Nordic Knots design - used in the Stockholm store and in the founders’ home - admired for its durable natural quality and modern look and feel. To create a layered, richer interior setting - the stainless steel is softened by vintage pine pieces sourced from Sweden, combined with bespoke furniture upholstered in neutral-colored vintage leather and silk fabric in earthy tones. Vintage Scandinavian lighting completes the space with depth and warmth.

Each furniture piece, lighting and detail has been carefully selected to create a space that inspires the process of choosing textiles for the home. Visitors are encouraged to take their time and browse the range of Nordic Knots rugs and curtains on display. Customization is also available through the made-to-measure program. Allowing clients to order custom sized rugs, handmade to fit exact measurements from a curated selection of popular styles.

The New York flagship is open for walk-ins from Monday - Saturday from 10am - 6pm, and on Sunday from 12pm - 6pm. Or book your in-store design appointment with our expert team.
