MEASURING GUIDE
Accurate measurements are essential for beautifully hanging curtains. Whether creating a grand floor-to-ceiling look or a tailored fit, this guide simplifies the process to ensure your curtains enhance your space perfectly.
HOW TO CALCULATE THE LENGTH OF YOUR TRACK OR ROD
Measure the width of your window and add the recommended extension to both sides to determine the length for your track or rod. Extending the hardware beyond the window ensures maximum light when curtains are open and creates the illusion of a larger window.
- Start by measuring your window width from edge to edge with a tape measure.
- Add 15 - 50 cm per side for a track or 20 - 50 cm per side for a rod.
- Window width + extensions = Total track or rod lenght
Example:
If your window width is 150 cm and you add 25 cm on each side, the total track or rod length is:
150 cm + 25 cm + 25 cm = 200 cm
HOW TO DETERMINE THE RIGHT NUMBER OF PANELS
To ensure full coverage from the edge of your window to the end of your track or rod extension, follow these simple steps to determine the right number of panels.
- For extensions up to 30 cm per side: Use one 140 cm wide panel per side (two panels total).
- For extensions between 30 - 50 cm per side: Use one 280 cm wide panel per side (two panels total). Use two 280 panels per side for a fuller look for windows over 300 cm.
Note: The width of the curtains when pleated can vary depending on the fabric thickness and pleat style.
We recommend considering your fabric choice and pleating preferences when determining the number of panels for full coverage.
HOW TO MEASURE FOR CURTAIN LENGTH
Measuring for curtain length is key to achieving a polished, elevated look. Use the ceiling as your reference point to maximize height and create a grand effect. If ceiling mounting isn't an option, mount the rod or track as close to the ceiling as possible.
– Ceiling-Mounted Track: Measure from the ceiling to the floor and add 2 cm.
– Wall-Mounted Track: Measure from the top of the track to the floor and add 2 cm.
– Rod with Rings: Measure from the underside of the ring to the floor and add 2 cm.
– Rod Without Rings: Measure from the top of the rod to the floor and add 2 cm.
