Loops – Yellow

Big Bud in Red, Loop in Green and Yellow, and All Hands in Beige are featured as Giancarlo Valle speaks throughout. Transcript from the interview: “A home, to me, is about framing life. I think you have to consider a home as a lens through which you live. It has to speak to you. It has to be authentic. This collection was a chance for me to explore something very personal, which was to reconnect with the idea of painting and sketching in my childhood. It's probably no surprise that I grew up in a house full of color, but in a totally different part of the world. The idea to work on a rug project—super unique—to start from that texture, that material, and sort of work your way up is great. It's sort of the opposite of architecture and sort of my training, so I liked the challenge. The sketches are really just a way of working and creating a language that we might not know, or trying to discover a way of talking through visuals. These rugs speak to that improvised quality of sketching. Everybody has an association with color, but in their own personal way, and that's fascinating to me.”
