Showroom Manager - LA Flagship

Nordic Knots is an interior design brand specialising in premium rugs and textiles rooted in Scandinavian aesthetics. We create timeless, aspirational products and experiences designed to elevate modern living.

As we prepare to open our LA Flagship in West Hollywood, we are looking for an experienced, commercially minded and highly engaged Showroom Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day performance and operation of the showroom.

The Showroom Manager will be responsible for building a strong showroom culture from the outset, setting a high bar for sales, client experience and execution, and creating an environment where the team is engaged, knowledgeable and accountable. This person will be equally comfortable coaching on the floor, working directly with clients and stepping into the operational details required to keep the showroom running at a consistently high level.

The ideal candidate is a confident and thoughtful people leader with strong commercial instincts, sound judgement and a genuine interest in interiors and design. They are proactive, solutions-oriented and comfortable making day-to-day decisions, while knowing when to involve broader retail leadership. Above all, they lead from the floor, take pride in the details and create clarity and momentum for the team around them.

Key Responsibilities

Flagship Opening

  • Play a key role in bringing the West Hollywood flagship to life, helping establish the routines, standards and ways of working that will set the showroom up for a strong opening.
  • Work closely with the broader Nordic Knots team on recruiting and preparing the LA team ahead of opening, and own the onboarding and training needed to ensure the team is confident in our products, systems and approach to client experience.

Sales & Client Experience

  • Own the day-to-day sales performance of the LA showroom and drive the team toward achieving and exceeding store sales targets and KPIs.
  • Lead by example on the showroom floor, engaging clients directly and supporting the team in delivering knowledgeable, thoughtful and highly personal service.
  • Own the team’s clienteling and follow-up discipline, maintaining visibility into opportunities and ensuring consistent execution that drives conversion, repeat business and lasting client relationships.
  • Support complex customer interactions and escalations, ensuring issues are resolved with care and sound judgement.
  • Develop deep knowledge of Nordic Knots products and services and ensure consistently high product knowledge across the team.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate and develop the LA showroom team, creating a collaborative, engaged and high-performing environment.
  • Create clarity around what strong performance looks like and use regular coaching, feedback and performance management to help individuals and the team consistently deliver against expectations across sales, client experience and showroom execution.
  • Support ongoing recruiting, onboarding and training as the team develops.
  • Build and manage the team schedule and daily floor coverage around the needs of the business, ensuring the showroom is appropriately supported while working within agreed labor parameters.
  • Set clear daily priorities and maintain effective communication across the showroom team.

Showroom Operations

  • Take full ownership of the day-to-day running of the LA showroom, giving the team the direction and support needed to operate effectively, resolve routine issues and maintain consistently high standards.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, daily sales reporting and core showroom routines.
  • Maintain strong inventory and sample-management standards across the showroom and external storage.
  • Oversee receiving, replenishment and other operational processes in partnership with the team.
  • Maintain consistently high visual merchandising and showroom presentation standards.
  • Resolve operational, customer and facilities issues, escalating appropriately when needed.
  • Manage showroom resources and controllable operating needs thoughtfully in line with business requirements and agreed budgets.

Business, PRO & Community

  • Stay close to showroom performance, regularly reviewing sales, KPIs, client activity and customer trends, and use what you are seeing to set priorities for the team and surface opportunities or concerns to broader retail leadership.
  • Partner closely with the PRO team to help build the interior design and Trade business through the LA showroom, ensuring a seamless experience for professional clients, identifying local opportunities and helping deepen relationships within the design community.
  • Support events, appointments and local initiatives that build awareness and engagement with interior designers and Trade clients in partnership with the PRO and broader commercial teams.
  • Partner closely with the Head of US Retail / Regional Director, US West and broader teams on the ongoing development of the LA business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in high-end retail or showroom environments, including meaningful experience leading and developing teams.
  • Proven track record of driving sales, supporting store or showroom performance and creating exceptional customer experiences in a premium, luxury or design-led environment.
  • Experience within interiors, furniture, rugs, textiles or another relevant home category is highly valued.
  • Confident and engaging leader who is comfortable being present on the floor and working alongside the team.
  • Strong organisational and operational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Genuine interest in interiors and design, with an appreciation for the Nordic Knots brand and aesthetic.
  • Experience opening a new retail location or taking on significant store-level leadership responsibility is a plus.
